My name is Kim Flores. I am the founder and owner of Fit Phoenix and the Longevity Life Zone (LLZ) TRANSFORM-in-12 program. I am a lifelong fitness enthusiast who was influenced at an early age by my mother who used to pump iron long before it was cool – for women!

MY MOTHER - AN UNLIKELY INFLUENCE

My mother embraced a lifestyle that included rigorous exercise, high-quality foods, nutritional supplements, and meditation, believing they were key to longevity. She snuck wheat germ in our baked foods, packed our lunches every day, and made sure every meal was balanced with protein, healthy fat and just the right amount of carbohydrate. We rarely had soda, candy or junk food. Who did this forty years ago – not many people!

 As my mother aged, she remained highly active; strong; physically capable of hard work or play; and youthful in appearance. As I compared her to other women her age, it was obvious she was on to something! Thanks in part to my mom, as I’ve grown older, I have a huge appreciation for the benefits associated with a healthy lifestyle.

DRIVEN BY PASSION

My passion is helping people make lifestyle changes that contribute to improvement in overall wellness and quality of life. There is nothing more rewarding than a client who stops their type 2 diabetes dead in it’s tracks by changing their nutrition and adding daily exercise; lowering blood pressure through weight loss and nutrition changes; helping a grandmother improve her strength and flexibility so she can play on the floor with her grandkids; slowing or preventing osteopenia through strength training, Vitamin D and dietary calcium; or even helping with recovery from a heart attack or stroke. OUR NEEDS CHANGE AS WE AGE

LLZ TRANSFORM-in-12 is a platform where we deliver fitness, nutrition and lifestyle programs specific to the 40 and older age group. I personally realized the importance of this when I was following fitness programs designed for people younger than me who had different capabilities and health histories. My results were not optimal, and I was feeling sore and miserable much of the time. My nutritional needs were different too. When I ate like a 25-year-old, my 40+ body had a very different metabolic response. 

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE PROGRAM

I challenged my team to develop a program based on scientific results and proven to be effective for the 40+ body. During this process, we achieved a better understanding of how the aging body is more susceptible to exercise-induced muscle damage and slower in adaptation, repair and recovery. We studied movements commonly performed in the gym to better understand which were protective of the aging body versus those that put us at unnecessary risk. Using this knowledge combined with research from organizations like the University of Texas SW and Harvard Medical School, we developed a program that is challenging, rigorous, and safe for our 40 and older LLZ TRANSFORM-in-12 members.

This program is excellent for women and men. It is designed for those truly ready to make changes in their lives. In this program, you will work together with a team of fitness and wellness professionals. You exercise daily and follow a nutrition program that will fuel your individual needs.

As you put these new practices in place, you will learn about many other important aspects of wellness through our LLZ Wellness Expert weekly live virtual sessions. In these sessions you will:

  • Learn about post-workout recovery strategies that will help keep you pain-free and ready to exercise again the next day.

  • Set goals and priorities that are realistic, achievable and help keep you accountable and working through temporary discomfort –key to achieve long-lasting change!

  • Discover the secrets to making healthy taste great when preparing smoothies, snacks and meals.
